Hello all,

I'm having issues with gable walls/roofs. My walls are set up with all the appropriate layers like a house would have (studs, gyp. bd. sheathing and siding). I want my studs to stop at my top of plate level, but my sheathing/siding should continue up to the underside of my roof. I unlocked those layers so they can extend beyond the studs. But I dont know how to have the sheathing/siding layers terminate under the roof. The only way I have figured out how to do it is let them extend beyond the ridge a bit and then do a void (which is a pain). Is there an easier way? I guess it wouldn't matter except that when you go to cut a section the geometry is completely wrong. If you join the wall to the roof it joins the entire wall, not just the sheathing and siding like I want. The way that I have been making it work is by making the sheathing/siding a separate wall, which is also another extra step. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
