Today, while looking for anything in our linked files from the architect I noticed something. We are leaving in all the sheets, and views from the architectural file then linking it into our revit file. We then create our own views and sheets in our model. I was debating saving the architectural file as is (for refrence), then cleaning out the sheets& views before linking it in for MEP work. *Have other companies taken this approach, and has it helped them with thier processing speed?* When I tried this on a test file (save as & detached from central) I was able to reduce the size of the link file by 58-53% (i tried it on two separate projects) but I have been told in the past that revit file size is not necessarily the ONLY key to faster file processing speeds.
