the help and tutorials in revit6 go a long way getting you up to speed. they have some weak points but generally posting on any of the revit user forums will get you an answer pretty quickly.

Although it is true that the tutorial that comes with Revit is very helpful, I found that much more was needed in order for me to learn the software. So far I have purchased four books that I have found very helpful; Revit Architecture Fundamentals, by ProSoft Residential Design using Revit Architecture 2008, by Daniel John Stine Commercial Design using Revit Architecture 2008, by Daniel John Stine Mastering Revit Architecture 2008, by Dzambazova, Demchak, and Krygiel. I chose this because Aubin's book isn't out yet. In addition to the books I have searched the internet for "Revit Architecture 2008" and found many helpful sites, including this one (my favorite). Good Luck

i've bought 2 books so far for Revit, Mastering Revit Architecture 2008 and Revit Architecture 2008 Basics. They are both very good books, the first is more a reference where as the second is a full tutorial from beginning to finish of a drawing. The second book is a very good starter book in my opinion it looks/reads like a college style course book) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Revit-Architecture-2008/dp/0470144831/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197408147&sr=8-2 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Revit-Architecture-2008-Basics-Elise/dp/1585033766/ref=pd_bbs_sr_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197408147&sr=8-5

Check out www.DGCAD.com I found this site really worth it, as I can download a short movie tutorial, & have it explained to me, rather than reading from a book. It certainly gave me a fast uptake on some of the more complicated bits of Revit.

Instead of reading a book and struggling on your own, why don't you join us in class? CAD Training Online is the only Premier Autodesk Authorized Training Center that offers instructor led online training for all Autodesk programs. Our training is not recorded videos, nor is it a WebEx presentation where you simply watch the instructor and then go away to struggle on your own with the intricacies of Revit. Rather, we provide you with the training materials (shipped to your home or office), we provide a dedicated instructor for you alone, we connect via desktop sharing session, offer post training support and also provide you with a 30 day use of the software. Because we run the classes on one one you get the full attention of an Autodesk Authorized Instructor the entire time you are attending class. In addition, because we run the class just for you we can schedule it for anytime you need. Need weekend training? How about evenings? No worries, were there when you need us. All of our classes come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee to eliminate any worries that you might have. Our 13 Autodesk Certified Experts have trained over 4,000 students over the past two years. All of them have over a decade of in the classroom experience and have worked for the top design firms and top Autodesk resellers in North America. You can review our offerings on our site: www.cadtrainingonline.com or you can contact us directly at 757-619-6561. Please don't get suckered into some boring video training that will put you to sleep unless that is your favored method to learning.
