Im not sure  if you have tried it but have you tried the 'join geometry' tool?

If the geometry lines up and has the exact same material it will remove the join line you speak of.....the walls dont literally join, they are still seperately editable but the join lines disapear.

Rudyard, not sure if this makes sense!

I selected the Join Geometry tool, proceeded to select my FIRST solid geometry (being the brick veneer) then it asks to select the SECOND solid geometry (being my single brick with the return) however when I try selecting the single brick wall, it won’t let me select it.

Any ideas why...?

Do you have the same "material" in the 2 walls?? What i'm trying to tell you is, the "Material" must have the SAME NAME, you can have in the "Settings>Materials" 2 or more "names" with the same material but to join the walls like you want you must have in the 2 walls the SAME NAME to that material, did you understand???

Typhoon,

That’s exactly what my problem was. The extended wall was a different material type to the brick veneer.

Now that I have that sorted, how do I remove the RED line I’ve circled?

Hi Typhoon,

Thank you for your welcome.

I'm very new to REVIT, in fact I have only a whole 6 hours experience on it LOL....

I'm studying Architectural Technology and am in my first year/second semester. In our first semester we used AutoCAD but have now been told that we will only be using REVIT from here on.

The project I'm working on is an assignment for school. It's a split level house, part brick veneer part double brick.

Please don't throw sticks and stones, but spending the little time I have with REVIT it almost feels like a challenge drawing this over AutoCAD.

If for arguments sake I was only going to draw a floor plan for this assignment, would I be better off using AutoCAD? or would I best try drawing it in REVIT using the drawing tools?

Any advice would be great help.

If I were only drawing floor plans I would use Revit over AutoCAD anytime, it's still faster.  6 hours is not mauch experience in Revit, but keep at it - it gets easier, although there is a lot of functionality to learn.

Hi tim123,

I agree... I know I'll end up loving REVIT once I get my head around it.

Would you know of any video tutorials for beginners on REVIT?
