I need some help determining why my room tags are not showing up when I place them in my plans.  I've checked the visibility graphics and rooms and tags are checked.  Any suggestions?

  1. Tags are annotations.  If you place them in one plan, that is where they will show up.  To get them in other plans of the same area, either tag them in those plans or copy to clip-board and paste current view.
  2. Are you using phases?  If so, then check your settings.
  3. Verify again that rooms are in model tab and room tags are on in annotation tab.
  4. If using design options, did you add rooms and tags in that option?

I'm not using phases or design options.  Let me be more specific: I'm placing a room under the Room and Area Tab.  When placing the room I can see the extents of the room along with the area when I hover over the room I'm trying ro define.  When I click in the room the tag never appears and I get a message "None of the created elements are visible in Floor Plan: LEVEL 01 View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings, as well as any Plan Regions and their settings."  I've checked the visibility settings and all appears ok.  Not sure how to check the view parameters or plan region setting.

Ah... VP is view properties- just type that while in the view.  Make sure the room is actually in your view by looking at your view range.  Your room may be too short and not cut by the view plane.  Mayebe your view plane is no high and the depth is incorrect.  Read about this in your HELP - View Properties

OK, I;m getting closer.  I opened a section through a room and when I attached a room tag I noticed that the definenition of the room stopped at about 12" above the floor.  In other words the room is not being defined above 12" from the floor.  I have no idea where this came from or how to fix it, never had this come up before.  Any ideas as to why the room is being defined at a limited hieght above the floor?  I've tried moving the cut plane all over and it has no effect.

thanks

When you place a room, the room height is set on your options bar.  You can read about this in your HELP under Creating a Room

Thanks, I figured that out eventually, but I'm wondering if there is a way to set this height globally so I don't have to set it each time a place a room.  Strange how this has never occured before.
