Hi, I am trying to render a scene in 3ds max using backburner. When I start the rendering I get a bunch of errors about paths and maps and materials. clearly all of my materials paths are not set up to work over a network. Firstly, I was wondering what the easiest way is to change the materials in an fbx imported revit file to 3ds max materials? Then, How would I set up the rendering paths and map locations to easily render in 3ds max with backburner?

Thanks,

-David

Your Revit materials are Mental Ray materials, the are used in the promaterials library in Max, you do not need to convert them. You also need to make sure you are using the mental ray rendering engine. I honestly have not used backburner in a long time. I use distributed rendering with mental ray. This allows you to harness the power of up to 64 processors over your network to render on a single image on the host machine rather than multiple machines rendering their own small portion of the image.
