I still don't understand the issue about getting a Revit model to aquire the coordinates from a dwg file with a project UCS a long way away from the WCS (350km in the one I'm working on).

Am I right to think that it won't happen automatically using the 'acquire coordinatres' function if the project is more than 1.7km away from WCS 0,0?

I can force it to work by a) rotating 'true north' to suit points on a survey dwg and then b) specifying a known coordinate taken from the dwg in autocad.

I've read elsewhere that this is going to 'corrupt' the model. Is this the case?

Is there a simpler way to do it that the old autocad boys can understand?

There is a very good article in this issue of AUGI on REVIT's positioning system.  Read it and it will help you understand this:  AUGI|AEC EDGE
