Is it possible to make a line pattern consisting of letters such as a Gas Line or a Fence Line or a Water Line, etc.....? example: ----X----X----X

No, but its on the wish list. Current method is to use a repeating detail component.

Thanks for the info....Do you know if there is a way to add details to your door or window families so that when you cut a section through them, the details will show in the section view? That would eliminate having to detail them in section view (wish list?)

You can definitely do that. You need to embed detail components in the appropriate locations in the family then set them to only display at fine scales...

Thanks that seemed to work, except for 1 thing. I am putting an aluminum frame detail in the head of a window, and I constrained it to the glass of the window. When I do a detail cut of that window, the detail is in the center of the frame and doesn't stay consistant with the glass. Any ideas?

Make your detail parametric and link the parameters to the window family...

OK...I'm stuck. I spent the day yesterday working on your answer, but to no avail. Could you explain (or lead me to where I can find it) how to make it parametric and link it to the family? Thanks.
