i'm using MEP 2010. i know that it's not really recomended for architectural rendering, but it's all i have to work with. i noticed that when i render a building with trees and cars, all of the objects cast shadows, however, the trees do not reflect in the windows while the cars do. any advice would be appreciated, thanks

That is because most cars are real objects but trees are RPC images. They have no mass.

I don't know in MEP but did you try to turn ON "Cast Reflection"?

as you can see i'm still having no luck with it. the bush and tree cast a shadow in the reflection but not the mass. and the people didn't even show up as shadows next to the car.
it's not like i have to do presentations with it anyway, after all i work for a MEP Engineer. i just like to do it, because my degree is in Architecture.
i wish there was a company close to me that was an A&E firm that was willing to pay what i make here. all the Architects around me pay about $3.00 less per hour. but i'm always looking.

Just to update. i tried it again with the direction that Typhoon gave, and with a little tweeking i now have it working. as you can see the table is showing inside as well as the shadows and reflections of both trees, and both bushes. i had to play with the amount of reflectance the glass has to show both objects inside and outside the wall. but now i'm confident that i can make it work for any situation down the line. thank you for your input Typhoon. ;-}
