Hello,

 I have created a new railing system (Revit 2010), but cannot change or edit the material of the balusters or post that I made as new families. I can change the hand rail material, since there is a material tab for that one in the type properties. I have tried going back into the family editor for the balusters but the material parameters that I create do not show up anywhere when I bring it into the main file. Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 I found the way to do it finally. Not very logical, but it works. This is from another member. Thanks.

"you have to go through the Project Browser... go to 'Families' ... Then go to 'Railings' Right click on the size baluster you want to change material and BAM!"
