Hi Does anyone know how to change the control points to be below the structure instead of above? There does not seem be anything about this. I know I can rotate the beam profile by 180 and i will get the same result. Would be good if the beam is modelled correct in family instead of rotation when the beam is in the central file. I have attached an image to illustrale which point i am refering to. Thanks

Can you elaborate on what you are trying to achieve? I can't think of why it would make a difference. By default the beams are placed with their levels at the top and this is the normal convention with beams that I've seen in the past.

Hi Tim Yes, It is a longer story. I am setting up a drainage system(with a circular profile and one with a box gutter profile).I have several drains running into one main drainage pipe. I looked into the sweep blend tool (and found some tutorials here on revit city, which was were very comprehensive).I found that the sweep blend tool was harder to control with the level start and begin. I am considering if we should go back to this option again though. However I can’t get the geometry to cut each other probably in the open drain sections (maybe I have not tried hard enough on this one yet see attached image). I also looked into using the rail family but it doesn’t want to join. The initial idea was to have a beam family where there already was a constant fall (which ideally would be parametric). This does not seem posible which is why I am out in a small D-tour. So the only thing you had to was to draw a line and adjust the heights.I find the beam system working nicely because you can easily set it up for others to use and by using the structural concrete material the joining is really good. It is also fast to change the fall either by typing distance or using the align tool to the reference plane. In the mass you had to go inside the mass and then into the profile to change the fall. Regarding the previous post; As the drain is in an internal part of the building there has been a request for setting it out from the bottom of the pipe instead of top. Thanks for your patience

If you're using reference planes to align the beams to then you can use them for the setting out also. The elevation marker tool will also snap to the bottom or top of a beam.
