As the only draftsman at in the company, I wear many hats.  (except a Top Hat)  I do all the drafting, but have been since doing rendering more often.  I've found that with no traing, revit can be tough, as the case for me learing how to revit.  However, I am achieving substantial progress and am turning heads at the company.  Here are my current challenges.

1. My render time is always set to 7:30 pm 5/10 boston time.  This is the only way to get the interior and exterior lights to show up.  Whats the secret to get the lights on in the day time?

2.  Glass never shows up, why?  Glass appears to always be missing.

3.  Vehicles.  Most vehicles (and Componets) seem to be derived from a DWG, which (for me) will not allow you to assign materials to it.  How is this done?

4.  I make a material in the family, then I load it in the project.  I get the names but have to pickout the actual material textures again.  Solution?

5.  If revit is my knowledgebase for rendering, what is the best program for rendeing that is both easy to learn and all in one? (bad example being Artlantis)

Thanks all

First of all, Welcome to Revit World.....

About your questions I try to answer in a few words:

1- Try to increase the value of your (watts/Lumens) interior lights, if you search in the forum you gonna see several threads about this.

2- Check the "Glass name" you want, then go to materials and "replace" to a different glass you want, remember you can change the reflection, color, ...... for the glass. (there are several posts here in the forum)

3- Yeah, i think 90% of the vehicles are from CAD programs BUT you can change the materials (glass, tires....), pick in that "Car", "edit Family" go to Settings>materials and check the names you have there for the several parts of the car, if you want you can change in there OR in the project in materials change. (there are several posts here in the forum)

4- Like the Same in the "Cars". (there are several posts here in the forum)

5- I always render in Revit BUT 3DMAX it's also a good solution, again, there are several posts here in the forum

I Hope and I Wish to LEARN  more, and more, and more.... REVIT

Thanks all, this turned out to be easier than that chick I dated in high school.  I think all has been solved.  Thanx!

In retrospect, the answer was the 'adjust exposure' button in the Render Tab.
