Please call me a fool, but I just can't seem to get this to work. Simple task: Create Foundation Notes for a drawing sheet. I'm in a drawing someone else created, and there are indeed note blocks created using some command. However it seems elusive.I am attaching two images. One image shows the above-mentioned existing schedule, with the "duplicate view" greyed out. Strike one. The other image shows a new "note block" I generated after reading Revit Help, however as you can see, the "add row" is greyed out. Strike two. What am I missing, and is there an easier way? Thanks!!

You are confused... The second image you have is a keynote legend. Keynotes are created in a txt file seperate from REVIT. Once you load the file, you can use it and the legend will be populated ... depending upon your settings / by keynote or by sheet. You need to read some more in your H E L P if you want to use keynotes.

Ok., so it sounds like I shouldn't be using the keynote fuction for typed in place notes. Which function would you suggest to get an end result like the first image?

What I use for notes is a key schedule (and what your first screenshot seems to show.) I use Nurses Call Station Schedule. You can use any schedule that you don't think you would need to schedule. Select the key schedule after you open a new schedule. You will start with a key parameter and will have to add another parameter for the text. I start with a word document then copy and paste it line by line into the notes "schedule". It's not perfect but it works. For what it's worth, I posted a tip today for organizing notes in the project browser. HTH, John
