I CREATED AN IN-PLACE FAMILY, AND IN ORDER TO KEEP THINGS ORGANIZED, I CREATED A GROUP INSIDE OF THE IN-PLACE FAMILY, NOW I FINISHED THE FAMILY, BUT EVERYTIME I TRY TO EDIT THE IN PLACE FAMILY, REVIT SAYS IT CANNOT MAKE CHANGE TO THE GROUP WITHOUT UNGROUPING AND SAVING UNDER A NEW NAME, ETC. I CANT UNGROUP WITH OUT EDITING THE FAMILY . . . ITS THE CHICKEN AND THE EGG, ANY IDEAS? I TRIED TO LOCATE THE FAMILY IN THE PROJECT BROWSER, BUT DOESN'T SHOW UP . . . I CANT ROLLBACK BEFORE I MADE THE GROUP WITHOUT LOSING ALL THE WORK ANYWAY . . . HELP!!

Sounds like a pickle. The family will show up in the project browser. Everything does. Hover over the family and find what category it is, then navigate to that category in the project browser and you'll see it. If possible, please isolate this in-place family in a new project (save as and delete the other information or Copy to clipboard and paste in new project) then upload so someone or I can have a look. I would need to have a look/play to see if there is a solution other than recreate the family.
