@ apanico

Scale? Yes, use the 'Resize' command on 'Modify' tab.

This problem is addressed in the premier issue AUGI/AEC EDGE.  DWG improrts with coordinates (before scaling) longer than 10 digits may be truncated to 0 and become corrupt.  They also say that entities furtur than 2 miles apart (after scaling) may cause accuracy issues and are not allowed.

The solution - subdivide into smaller files.

Thanks for directing me into that direction... The issue gives very usefull reading tips etc...
However the solution for the above mentioned problem is rather a poor one to say the leas ... I really hope they are addressing it in the next fix!
Further we are currently using the import into 2009 and then converting it to 2010 which suites us the best as we dont want to waist time in AutoCAD splitting up Civil drawings.... And we do work on bigger scales or landscaped Environments which require us to have a site bigger than 2 miles accross... holding thumbs for the Service pack!

I am also having this problem and I know my drawing is not possibly more than 2 miles across.  I'll try the import to2009 trick, but I agree with other posters that this is a wasteful and frustrating problem.

agreed very unnecessary problem

how i fix this problem now is, i open the cad file in AutoCAD, then 3d orbit around. it shows a couple line layers far lower then the drawing it self so i delete them. imports perfect

I had the same issue moving from Revit 2009 to 2010 (recieved the same 2 mile error message in Revit 2010 but not in 2009). Once I exploded all objects in my cad file, and then purged, everything came into Revit 2010 OK. I wasn't even working with a site plan, it was only a 1.1 mb file of a building plan from Auto Cad. Thanks for everyone's help.
