Hello, Newbie question here. Beam systems work great for floor joists. Is there a quick way to do the rim board on residential floor framing? TIA, Sam

You can model them as beams but the ends don’t lap. You can fuss with end extensions to close the gap. There may have been changes since this post. I resorted to a fill region in plan and detail component in section. Lately, I have been doing all my framing as view specific detail lines. HTH, Sam

What about a host sweep-->slab edge. Would this work? I'm not all that familiar with the term rim board and I'm just going on what it sounds like Puh

Ahhh I have the answer you are looking for! Mr Spot, the rim board is the outermost part of the floor framing system. I can't believe I...am telling something to Mr Spot (you are a revit god!) But to answer the question, I too had asked this question. The best way I found....and the quickest way is to create a wall the thickness of your rim joist. Attach the plywood and the siding material to it also. It will align and snap and mitre and anything you want it to do. Let me know what you think of it.

Yes, I think the floor edge sweep is reasonable. The small wall is an interesting method, Framer Dude. Sam
