hi,

i can't seem to get some imported objects to accept a material. for example, when i import a few different dwg objects from the Kohler website it seems that only a few objects will take on a material. i've went into "oject styles/imported object" and changed the material in there but some objects just don't take on a material. even with some small uncomplicated objects i can't get them to accept a material.

i just need these objects to render a material!

thanks everyone for your valuable information and for your time.

Hi jukeboxangel, have you tried here:  Settings-->Materials....    A recommendation is to change the names of the materials by other i.e. "Render Material 0,0,0" to "Toilet color"...

i got it to work. the funny thing is that when i looked at the numerical color assigned to the object and changed the material it still didn't change.what i had to do was look at the graphic color assigned to the object which was light blue. then,i changed the material according to the matching color. the number that was light blue wasn't the number that was assigned to it in the object materials parameter however. strange?

thank you so much for your help though because it started me out in the right direction.
