My company is new to the Revit world and has run into some issues with our machines. When in the model (only 17mb at this point) we have problems loading components and families. The computer will at some points only take seconds to bring up the selection menu while other times minutes and more often freezing the machine. We would like to inquire what you successful (large revit file) users have for horsepower to better give us an idea of whether it is the hardware or software which causes us such woes.

project managment is also an important factor in project performance. the number of open windows, and the number of loaded families in a project can take even a top-end machine and slow it to a crawl. but here are the required system specs: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=12431819
