Hi, I have a series of DLH-Series Bar joists (from the Revit imperial library) in my revit model. In elevation, the lines of the bar joist are not seen, only the horizontal lines of the top and bottom beam of the joist (no webbing). In a 3d view, when rendered, this also occurs, so I only see the horizontal bars, not the webbing, so it looks like the joist is just two pieces of unconnected metal bars floating in space. Please help me fix this. Thanks. -Chris

You will have to open the family for editing and modify the visability parameters so that the elements you want to see in certain types of plans are visable. I opened the family and the first thing I noticed is that there is another family nested into it for the webs: angled web-family.rfa Open this family and check the options you want for its visability, pay attention to level of detail as well. Load this back into the DLH bar joist family. In the main DLH bar joist family make sure the other elements you want to see have their visability set for the right type of view and view detail level. thanks Tom, that worked. I forgot to modify the visibility of the nested family when I oped it for editing, that was my problem. Thanks for the help. -Chris
