My firm is starting to use Revit MEP 2009, and I'm having trouble implementing it.  I've done some tutorials from Autodesk.com to get started, but my problem is this:

We have a house that was modeled in Structure 2009 that we're trying to run through MEP.  The model opens fine and I can place electric components such as lighting fixtures, outlets and switches, but I am unable to create circuits like I was able to in the tutorials.

I've noticed that in the file that there aren't any Electrical views.  I wonder if maybe this is my problem and if there is anyway to correct this?  In other words, do I have to make a new Electric view and if so, how?

There are two different options I can think of.  The first would to be to link the house into a new MEP model and just use that link...there could be some issues with hosting and such with this idea.  The reason you do not have those views is because it was set up in RST.  So it will take that form in no matter what version of revit you open it in.  The second would be to link the file then selct the link and select to merge the file.  Cryingits not called merge, but its on the options bar...i cant think of the name)  and then this will put all the elements into your new MEP model.   So either way you need to start a new MEP file and then bring the model from RST into it.  This should give you full functionality and your default MEP views.

Thanks, Bronco.  I'll try that.

EDIT - So far, so good.  I have to do some wonky stuff with levels and wall, but it's working much better now.
