I am a newbie learning revit and need to know how to exactly place an opening in a wall. I am working in revit 2009. I have an elevator shaft that is 3 stories tall. I go to the modelling tab and try to use the opening command, then select wall opening but I cannot place exactly where I want it to go and with the correct dimensional opening. I tried in elevation and 3d views. Please help

In elevation view or Section why don't you first create a couple of "Ref. Planes" in the right place where you want your "opening"??? You also can "edit" the wall and create the opening instead of using the "Opening" tool....
