Just like Bm3875 said, there are stages to learning Revit.  Though I would describe the "Phase 2" that's mentioned as "holy ****! There's no way i can do this!"

But that passes, and eventually things start to come together.  One thing that has helped me alot is simply looking at the curent forum posts and reading about the issues that other users have.  By reading the problems and soultions i've managed to learn alot.

I too took a basic course and it gave me enough information to get started, but I had to play with the program a bit before I was ready to leap into a complete Revit project.  And after playing a bit and reading alot of posts, and doing some reverse engineering, certain things are becoming more clear.

Ureca, have been using a tutorial set I bought from CADclips, its briliant especially the "whoops" when even Darrell gets cought up, but he can figure out the problem and lets you see how he fixes it, the man should be made a Saint.

CADClips is a good source, so is YouTube in fact!  There are others out there as well... RevitKid.com... just do some preliminary Google searches and you'll find some tutorial videos out there.  You're right, the tutorial OoTB is not done well at all, but you can usually find out how to do what you want to do with Revit with a little searching online.  Also, many people have said it, but here I'll say it anyways: Revit's Help section is usually pretty helpful.  I've only found a few things in there that I read 'What' can be done, but not 'How' it can be done.

Stick in there.  There are some things I still think Revit has some problems with that I could easier do in CAD, but all in all it's a good program once you get to know how to make the best use of it.  Just remember, learning how to use it is the first hurdle but then learning how to make the BEST use of it... that takes practice and insight from others on here to learn.

Stick with it man, we've all been there.
