i recently made a custom counter and oven unit as a new family. When I try to load it as a component in another project, it is at a larger scale. How do I change the scale of the object so that it matches the rest of the project? thanks for your help.

What type of family is it. When you model something in revit it is always drawn 1:1 and scales according to each view.
If its 2D then you may have used a symbol as opposed to a detail component. A symbol always has the same print scale regardless of the view scale.
Anyway, if it is modelled and you need to change the size, open the family and use the scale tool on each of the elements. Alternatively make the unit parametric then simply set the size as you require.
HTH.

To Mr. Spot: how do I make the unit parametric? I have a symbol in 2D and I want to use it in different scales but I don't know how to do it.
Thank you for your help.
