I wish that REVIT would do away with the concept of having the structural floor section and the finished floor section as one element. Its not a realistic representation of how things go together and I find myself separating the structural parts from the finish parts if there are a lot of different finish types and thicknesses. Finishes do not travel under walls for the most part, so separating them makes sense in that it can be scheduled and areas can be accurately taken off, but separating finish from structure adds phantom floor area to a floor schedule; in short, there is no reason for it. Finish floor should have its own assembly button, right below the current floor button.
