Question from a Revit novice:  I added a Sweep to a particualr wall Family that I had been previously using in the project.  All the new walls that I create of this same type since then have the sweep (that's good).  Unfortunately, all the old walls made prior to the sweep do not update to include the sweep (that's bad).  Is there a setting or something that would allow new sweeps to behave retroactively in old walls of the same name/family??  I tried match properties, but that didn't work.  Thanks

That is strange. It should have updated all the wall of the same family and type within the project. Check to make sure that the walls in question are the exact same wall type as the one you updated. Other than that I don't know why they are not updating. Have you checked both sides of the particular walls. I once added a sweep profile and didn't realize that all of my exterior walls were drawn with the exterior side facing the inside of the building.

Thankyou JAMESHGRIMES & TYPHOON.  It was the name - I thought it was exact (looked at it a 100 times) but there was a very subtle difference that made all the difference - worked perfectly.
