Another newbie here with what is, i am sure, a simple question for most of you experienced Revit-users.

I have admored the images in the gallery and nortice that there are lots more materials in these images than is in the Revit library.

If I am looking at say a red clay roofing tile rather than the slate tile in the render materials library - how do i change the material.... is it just a case of manually changing the colour or are there other library materials that can be uploaded into the standard library??

Here's hoping to hear back from you soon, and thanks

Hi, find the image you want to apply for your roof tile in web, magazines... and download to a folder you want, then in the materials properties, duplicate one existing and in custom replace the image there (existing) by the new one, adjust parameters in bump, scale, brightness and so one....

Typhoon

Thank you very much. This has done the trick....

Wonder if you could assist me with one more thing....

I am finishin off the topography of a small residential plot.

I wanted to have a "hedge" boundary but when i indert the "site:hedge" from the revit library, it just creates a series of 2-D lines on the

ground. Any idea how to insert a garden hedge??

Thanks

ps - only new to the forum but already finding it an invaluable souce of good info... thanks again
