I'm still pretty new to Revit and I have a Best Practices question.

I'm working on a fairly equipmentintensive project and it seems to me that it would be a good idea to somehow incorporate the electrical requirements of a particular piece of equipment into the equipment family itself.

So for example, I can add a refrigerator or a copy machine to a model, and when I do an electrical plan it will automatically show that I need a 220V outlet at 36" high, or a 120V outlet at 15" high, or whatever.

Is this a good idea? Is there a Best Practice for coording electrical requirements of different pieces of equipment?

Thanks in advance.

Steve.

You could probably do this if you needed to, but you are probably asking revit to get to involved in the design process.  It would be easier to just put the outlets in yourself where they can be rationalised with other plugs or grouped in the most convenient way or set out to economise the conduit layout.
