I currently am working on a project electrically and another firm is working on it mechanically. I want to cop/monitor thier mechanical devices into my model so I can hook up power to them. I have not found this option yet. Is this possible? furthermore I can't seem to be able to extract the electrical info out of thier schedules so I can schedule the mechanical equipmet. can someone please help me with these issues?

You can link any REVIT model - doesn't matter how it was produced. For your schedule question, use your H E L P with this search linked elements, scheduling

I have thier model already linked into mine. The issue is that I can't copy/monitor thier equipment. the only options that I get for copy/monitor is for walls, floors, grids and levels. Revit will not allow me to select the mechanical equipmet.

The only reason to copy/monitor it is if you need to use their items to host your work or if you are going to move them - edit them. So ... are you changing something of theirs or do you want to just see it and schedule it?

I want to be able to hook my electrical up to the mechanical equipment. Currently I have the mechanical model linked into mine. I can't put circuits to the mechanical equipment without having the equipment in my model. And I can't see any of the electrical information on thier schedules. So I am kinda stuck.

You are not stuck. First - if you followed the guidelines for the linked model, you will see the schedule. Second - If you can't copy monitor (This may be someting to look on the AUGI site for since I don't have MEP), you can always do it the hard way. - Make sure their model is properly linked. As such, your levels, grids, walls etc are all the sameOpen their model & select all same.
- From a 3D view, select all of their elements using the family menu and select all instances.
- Copy to clipboard
- Open your model in 3D and paste
- Turn off their items in the link.
