I'm creating a track light fixture with adjustable lights - the trick is that I'm not arraying because i want to be able to adjust their # and placement separately.  I'm setting instance parameters for the dimensions between the heads so that i can place them wherever i want on the track (I'm also adding a rotation parameter so i can rotate the head to any angle i want, and visibility Yes/No parameters for quantities....).

I want to be able to generate a schedule that itemizes each track fixture and the quantity of heads per fixture (which I can't seem to come up with without using the array command...) - For instance track fixture Type F1 has 5 heads, Type F2 has 2 heads, etc......suggestions?

The problem i keep running into is that I create a Light Fixture schedule and it shows all of the fixtures separately on their own row - total # of heads globally.  I'm sure i can find a family already uploaded that can do this, but i really want to figure it out regardless....

why not make a "family type" for each type of track fixture (F1, F2 etc) with a common "text parameter" that has the number of heads preset in the family, and the visibility preset to the number of heads. Once sceduled you should be able to make a formula that adds them all up in your schedule. Make all these type parameters and all the user has to do is select the fixture type.
Your rotation parameter sounds cool too, I hope you post it.

I was thinking along the same lines as far as the family types goes - I'll give the text parameter a go and see what I can come up with (I'll definately post if i can get it working properly... Smile

Thanks for the feedback.
