I am looking for a way to export to CAD formats from isolated view, to export some isolated portion of the drawing as opposed to hiding every element in the drawing first (which seems to be intent of isolate anyway)... I'm looking to make drawings to laser cut, and I would love to be able to use the actual profile lines of, say, a floor plate in my project. Instead I have to export the drawing to cad, then draw a polyline around the floor plate, recreating the drawing curve that already exists in revit. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Seems like isolate works for a one shot deal ... what's the problem with that?

Ideally, I would like to be able to export to .dwg from the isolated view. When I do, it exports the whole drawing. For example, I would like to be able to isolate the floor slab, and export that to .dwg so I can laser cut the shape.

Don't know what you are doing but it works just fine for me..... NOTE: THE SUN GLASSES ARE JUST A TEMPORARY HIDE AND THE ITEMS WILL EXPORT. You must hide in view or turn off in VG.
