I recently updated to Revit Architecture 2009, and looking through the new tools available I noticed that the mask decal tool is missing. Did they remove this tool or am I just missing it? Any help would be appreciated

What did you upgrade from, since the Mask Decal tool also seems to be missing from the 2008 help topics.  Was this a tool that was available in Beta that they removes or are you thinking of another tool?  Mask Region perhaps?

Just trying to get clarification on your question.

I checked Revit 2008.  There was no such tool as mask decal.  Where is the tool located, I'll double check.

I have since been in touch with autodesk and they confirmed that the tool was removed for the 2009 version.

Thanks for your imput.

The attached image is from Revit Architecture 2008 which shows the tool as it would be used to mask out a certain color in an image to use for signage or whatever.

Heh.. and all this time I was looking for an actual "Mask Decal" tool.

Sorry for the confusion.  Did they indicate why they removed it?  Seems like it's gone since they no longer needed a masking option for accurender material images.

it's really only used for logos on the side of a building that you only want to see a certain shape instead of a box, you can mask out the background color to be transparent.
