The situation that lead to this wish is that I had to gather on the same sheet a couple before/after elevation views.  Rather than have the before model and after model sharing the same file, it's much easier to have the before model in its own file and then do the design work on the after model.

But when it comes to setting up sheets, I wish I could link a viewport externally to the before model's elevation of the same.
