Is there any quick way to do a door offset: Here is the issue. I am responsible for modeling the siding and my structural eng. is responsible for modeling girts (in another program). I need the flexibility of offsetting the door back in the girt but still being attached to the siding wall. Any tips

I like to build my door families locked to a setback reference plane. That can be anywhere and the family is still hosted by the wall. I usually place that reference plane well inside the wall inside face then add an instance label for the distance from that plane to the outside face of the wall and call that the setback. Make it 1' or 2' for when you build the family then test it by setting it to 0.
