I recently tried upgrading a file (made a copy to use as a test) from Revit 2008 to Revit 2009.  The issue is that my system and family components do not show in the plan views.  The only thing that I can see in these views are details and model lines.  Everything looks fine in the 3Ds, elevations, and detail views.  I tried this on two different computers and got the same result on both.  My colleagues have been able to successfully upgrade other files without any problems; but this one does not want to work.  Has anyone encountered this problem yet, if so has anyone found a fix for it?

Greetings,

I'm having somewhat the same problem, but I was wondering,  can you see them on the screen in plan view?.  I can see them in plan but they will not plot out. I have the output I want from the screen just not the plot..

Mike

Have you sent this in to AutoDesk? Sounds like a bug or a problem with your file.

Mike, are your families/ components mass objects? You may need to turn on mass objects in the view. Just turning on the mass button on the top of the screen will show them in view but not change the view properties.

Hi guys! I just have a question regarding upgrading Revit 2008 to 2009, Is there any file size requirement for me to convert my 2008 into 2009 version? 'coz when i'm trying to open my file into 2009 it pops up an error which says 'unrecoverable error has occured' by the way my file size is about 120MB Is't big or its enough? thanks

That file zie shouldnt be an issue, AutoDesk does recognize that there are some file size issues with the up conversion but they are more around the 300+ mb.

Try running an audit and detach from central (if the project is workshared). Save that file somewhere and then try running the upgrade on that file. If you still have problems you will have to file a support requiest with Autodesk.

By the way the conversion on a file that size could take an hour or more, depending on the complexity of the model, number of families, etc.
