I'm wondering what everyone's opinion is on door naming convention in Revit.  Our office is going around and around trying to think up the best way to name doors.  Since the door style actually determines they type of door, we are trying to keep our naming convention generic enough so that we don't have to have 50 types of doors in our library.  Does everyone else follow Revit's general naming convention; Single-Flush, Double-Flush, etc, or do you name your doors based on manufacturer, or by frame type - HM or Aluminum?  What do you people do?  Maybe you can help resolve some of our interoffice conflicts

We just have a single door for each base type (single, double, double uneven, etc.) and then all of the materials, frame types, etc live in there. Personally we use instance parameters as it is easier to update and keep you from having to sort through hundred of different types. We deal primarily in schools and other large projects; to many diffrenet "types" of doors to try to keep track of, however a single family residence would be different. You could also use type catalogues, multiple families, etc. depending on what your workflow is.
