But part of one roof assembly...I know there is a way to cut a void out of this scenario but forgot a step on a void - I created void in roof category and I am doing sumthin' wrong... ANYONE? This will help with advanced SD and DD presentaions model and rendering w/ shadow for this purpose... Thanks

If you are trying to do individual rafters over a series I'd kick it out to general model and do one the way you want via extrusion from a side view 1.5" thick then load it back to the model and duplicate as necessary.  If it's the entire roof profile did you try roof by extrusion instead?

Some of the projects I work on have the same rafter detail. The way I work around the problem is to create a roof using 2x6 construction with the sheathing and shingles and another roof at 4" with no sheathing. I then overlay the 6" roof on the 4" roof and join the two roofs. This works better tham voids if I have a complicated roof.

Thanks - I realize the clean-up but I know you can void a roof (not extruded) notch. I was lloking for someone to refresh my memory. I still wan to do it on this simple layout...
