Reread the original post.   The problem is not the 'short wall' issue.   And for your benifit and others, several yeasr ago, I found a way around the short wall problem or feature as you call it.   Take a look at the attached image.   Both walls shown here in plan are 5'-0" high yet one wall 'cuts' and the other does not.   Cut plane is at 4'-0".  The secret is the wall that cuts has had its profile edited as shown in the second image.
