If you hit the spacebar before you place the elevator in a wall, it will mirror it so the door opens on the other side. And you can change the number of stops in the properties bar, under Construction. It is named, "Elevator Number of Stops"

Great Elevator!!!

To reduce the number of stops select the elevator and then look at the property menu. Under "Construction" you will see "_Elevator Number of Stops." Change this value to a number between 2 and 10. Also make sure your distances are set correctly under this same section. Generally they should match your ceiling height.

I am trying to incorporate this elevator into my college project without any success. Once i load the family it just doesnt appear, when I try to include it for a second time it just says "do you want to overwrite it again or overwrite with parameters". tried both options and still remains to be unseen. Any help? Student in urgent need of help!

I really appreciate the kind words...If you want to know the truth I have not been on this site in a very long time...I was actually surprised this was still on the site and even more surprised to see the amount of downloads...I did this family back in 2008 back when no manufacturer had a parametric elevator...I reloaded the family and unforturnately I did not make it to have a R or L opening...Just the different sizes...I have not used this elevator since manufacturers provide their own BIM products now...I will say that I think this elevator is more graphically pleasing than the manufacturers...
